Bad For Your Health

about

First track off of my upcoming album "Work"

lyrics

Panama City, argument with a frat boy twice my size,
Just cause you bought a cowboy hat don’t mean you got a ticket to ride.
Drinking stale beer like a sacrament, little boy in a big man’s clothes,
I met a red haired girl from Birmingham with a sunburn on her nose.

She said “Babe, I ain’t a doctor, but I think you need some help,
You can try me honey but it may be bad for your health.”

Motel room, ceiling spinning, my plane going down,
No one awake to catch me so I crash into the ground.
She had crooked teeth and a perfect smile, those freckles on her cheeks,
We would disappear when our time ran out, just fading like a dream.

I hated all I didn’t know before I’d felt regret,
Now I’d trade 50 pounds of wisdom for an ounce of innocence.
Just out in the dark like Halloween; it was all a masquerade,
Hearing voices in the footsteps as I turned and walked away.
